It is the removal of plaque that is in your teeth above the gum line. This procedure can only be done in a healthy mouth with no gum disease (bleeding gums, tartar, or bone loss) and those with a minimal amount of plaque
A crown is a tooth shaped cap which covers the tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, or appearance. It is usually needed for weak, cracked, broken, and large decayed teeth. A crown is also placed on a tooth which may have a root canal or implant. In our office there are two types of crowns that are done, PFM (porcelain fused to high noble metal) and LAVA (all porcelain).
Extractions are the removal of teeth; this is done when no other treatment can be done to save the tooth. These are unrestorable teeth due to any of the following: Severe decay, Periodontal disease, Infection or abscess, Ortho correction, Malpostioned teeth, Impacted teeth, Fractured teeth and roots
A denture is a prosthetic device made for patients who are edentulous (missing all their teeth). Dentures help with mastication, also for aesthetic reasons, appearance, pronunciation and self esteem. An impression needs to be taken and sent to the dental laboratory. Several try ins are made to make sure it looks and fits well, followed by additional adjustments as needed once delivered.
A root canal is needed when there is a large cavity that compromised the nerve or due to any type of trauma. In order to save the tooth, the nerve is removed, cleaned and sealed with a special material. After the root canal is done, the second step is to place a crown in order to give strength to the tooth.
Fillings are done on teeth that have tooth decay (cavity). During this process the decay is removed, the tooth is cleaned and filled with filling material. Our office only does composite fillings, which are unnoticeable and match the color of your teeth.
